I had chocolate truffles, mint kisses, almond butter crunches, chocolate éclairs, galaxy bars, white meringues, bongbong’s ube piaya, polboron, and more sweets from bacolod and places I haven’t been. Oh my God! And the holiday hasn’t even started yet. Well maybe it has for us?

Tomorrow is December 1. I wonder why my mother hasn’t put up all those Christmas decorations yet. Waterfront hotel put up their Christmas tree two weeks ago. It was beautiful.

Sean told me that based on his observation, Cebu only has two classes in society, the rich and the poor. I think that’s arguable. Three days ago, we went to a businessman’s residence for dinner. This is still part of our volunteer work for the SEAG. He provided dinner for everyone out of kindest and generosity. Well.. anyway, wow! His house was big! Huge! He had this very big parking space presumably for his guests anytime (which is most of the time) they hold a party in their residence. He has many maids with uniforms too. He also has a BMW car. The house is located at Beverly Hills, Lahug overlooking the city of Cebu. What a very rich man! But a few meters down from his kingly place is the sad disposition of the poorer, most neglected sect of society.
